Anniversary Celebration and Garden Dedication July 27

You are invited to the blessing of the Shalom Prayer Center Garden in celebration of Shalom's 35th anniversary on Sunday, July 27, 2008, from 3-5 p.m. Tours, historic displays, elegant desserts and local wines for your enjoyment. Shalom Selling Iris Rhizomes

From July to October, 2008, Shalom Prayer Center is selling two different iris rhizomes: the Queen of Angels Iris in honor of the Sisters' 125th anniversary and the Celebration Song Iris in honor of Shalom's 35th anniversary. Our heartfelt gratitude to Leonard and Liz Schmidt of the Schreiner's Iris Gardens of Salem for donating these beautiful irises.

Henri Dill Offers Inspiration and Appreciation to Sisters at Annual Foundation Recognition Dinner

The 23rd Annual Recognition Dinner of the Benedictine Foundation took place on June 3, 2008 at the Monastery. Featured speaker Henri (Ruef) Dill (MAA '62) kept the audience laughing while also offering inspiration with the story of her life journey. Henri, who was selected 2008 Mt. Angel First Citizen, recounted many experiences with the Sisters during her high school years which helped shape her as a person and gave her the confidence to accomplish great things in her life.

Thrasilla (Barr) Bauman of Mt. Angel and Laura Kreitzberg of Salem were honored for their outstanding support of the Benedictine Foundation and the Benedictine Sisters. "Tecie" Bauman (MAA '37) has been a long-time, generous donor to the Sisters, the Shelter, and Shalom, as well as of many other causes and community organizations. Laura Kreitzberg has provided essential support for projects including the restoration of the Sisters' pipe organ and the Century Club. more >
