Aging with Grace in a Universe of Wonder
Scientific discoveries in astronomy and micro physics substantially confirm the testimony of spiritual sages through the centuries that we live in a world of mystery, awe and surprise. Research indicates that many older people tend to be more holistically-oriented, enabling them to especially explore and appreciate the wonder of life. Building upon Journey of the Universe, the PBS video premiering in December 2011, this workshop describes resources available to enhance quality of life, purpose and joy in what may be the metaphor of the 21st Century.

Presenters: James D. Henry, MDiv is an ordained minister who has more than forty years experience in Christian education, career development, management and education. Linda S. Henry, BS has over twenty-five years of extensive health care education, communication and marketing experience with for profit and not-for-profit organizations in diverse settings.

Praying with the Desert Mothers during Lent
The Desert Mothers were holy women, who lived in the deserts of the Middle East during the early days of Christianity and monasticism. We have been blessed with stories of their lives and some sayings. There will be short teachings and time to pray quietly with both Scripture and the words of the Desert Mothers. Because many of their messages called for conversion of heart, this is a good way to get ready for Lent.

Meditation for Healing the Inner Child
A common experience during one's commitment to live holistically is to recognize the unhealthy states of being that cause problems personally and relationally. Such recognition can be a wake-up call with an accompanying grace from the Self. Among the more frequent expressions from this shadow arena of the psyche that do cause concern are Sadness and Anger.

This workshop will explore the relationship of these states as disconnection from our adult care of the Inner Child. Meditation practices will provide healing resources for continued re-parenting of one's Inner Child and a forthright relationship with Sadness and Anger. Additionally, healthy boundaries, detachment from learned roles, and the value of communication with one's shadow will be explored..

Friday, March 9, 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 10, 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
$125, $25 deposit, includes Friday overnight accommdations, Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and lunch. Begin the retreat with Vespers at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 5:30 p.m. Check-in by 4:30 p.m. Friday.
